FURIOSA: A MAD MAX SAGA

Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth take the lead in “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” a highly anticipated return to the dystopian universe crafted by Academy Award-winning visionary George Miller, known for his iconic “Mad Max” series developed over three decades ago. This upcoming film unveils an original, standalone action-adventure, delving into the genesis of the formidable character from the globally acclaimed and multi-Oscar-winning hit, “Mad Max: Fury Road.”

From Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures, this new feature is helmed by Miller and his longstanding collaborator, Oscar-nominated producer Doug Mitchell, under their Kennedy Miller Mitchell banner, based in Australia.

In the chaotic aftermath, a young Furiosa is abducted from the Green Place of Many Mothers and finds herself under the control of the formidable Warlord Dementus, leading a fierce Biker Horde through the Wasteland. Amidst their journey, they encounter the Citadel ruled by The Immortan Joe. As these two tyrants battle for supremacy, Furiosa faces numerous trials while orchestrating a path back home.

Anya Taylor-Joy portrays the titular role, joined by Hemsworth, Alyla Browne, and Tom Burke in this gripping narrative.

The screenplay is co-authored by Miller and Nico Lathouris, known for their work on “Mad Max: Fury Road.” The film boasts an esteemed creative team, including first assistant director PJ Voeten, second unit director, and stunt coordinator Guy Norris, director of photography Simon Duggan (“Hacksaw Ridge,” “The Great Gatsby”), composer Tom Holkenborg, sound designer Robert Mackenzie, editor Eliot Knapman, visual effects supervisor Andrew Jackson, and colorist Eric Whipp. Notably, the production features renowned collaborators such as production designer Colin Gibson, editor Margaret Sixel, sound mixer Ben Osmo, costume designer Jenny Beavan, and makeup designer Lesley Vanderwalt—all of whom earned Oscars for their contributions to “Mad Max: Fury Road.”

Presented by Warner Bros. Pictures in collaboration with Village Roadshow Pictures, “Furiosa,” a Kennedy Miller Mitchell production, directed by George Miller, is slated for exclusive theatrical release nationwide on May 24, 2024, and internationally commencing on May 22, 2024.
