Tenki no Ko: Weathering With You

Your Name, released in 2016 and directed by Makoto Shinkai, is well-known for being one of the most beautifully animated and visually aesthetic anime of our time. Three years later, Makoto Shinkai is back with another gorgeous anime film, Weathering With You or Tenki no Ko which translated literally into “Child of Weather”.

This film was produced by STORY inc., animated by CoMix Wave Films, and the music was done by RADWIMPS who also did the music for Your Name. You can watch the official teaser trailer here:

The plot for this movie revolves around high school boy Hodaka Morishima who leaves his home on a small island to live in Tokyo. Hodaka finds a job as a writer and has to put up with rainy weather every single day. That is, until he meets a young girl named Hina Amano who has the mysterious power to control the weather and make it sunny at will.
