The Mandalorian

After the initial teaser trailer back in April, excitement for the upcoming Star Wars series for Disney+, The Mandalorian, ramped up to new levels. Now, after the show has been confirmed to premiere on November 12th, fans are even more excited now than ever before. The trailer shows a surprisingly gritty world with stunning cinematography and characters that look interesting despite the lack of words.

Considering the lighter tone and animated style of the previous Star Wars series in Clone Wars and Rebels, The Mandalorian is definitely something new that I’m sure many Star Wars fans have been clamoring for for quite some time. And also, considering that the newest films of late (not including Rogue One), utterly fell short of expectations, the darker, grittier tone of The Mandalorian certainly comes as a breath of fresh air.

Below, you can find a short synopsis for the premise of the series:

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. “The Mandalorian” is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

The lead role in The Mandalorian will be played by Pedro Pascal, who played Oberyn Martell on Game of Thrones. Another notable casting is Gina Carano (Angel Dust from Deadpool), who will be playing Cara Dune, an ex-rebel shock trooper in the Alliance to Restore the Republic.

Overall, I feel really good about The Mandalorian. Even though it’s still a bit too early to judge, at least it seems like they’re heading in the right direction. Get ready, ladies and gentlemen. This is the Star Wars series we deserved.
