XPG SPECTRIX S40G RGB SSD

The SPECTRIX S40G RGB is the newest PCIe SSD from XPG that was designed for gaming. So if you’re a gamer looking for an SSD to maximize your gaming performance, this SSD will blow your mind. You can watch the full video review of the SPECTRIX S40G below:

Stylish RGB Gaming Design

As you can see, the SPECTRIX S40G RGB comes with an aluminum enclosure that not only looks badass thanks to the integrated RGB, but also helps with heat dissipation. This ensures that the SSD stays cool at all times and doesn’t overheat.

Another great thing about this SSD is that even though it’s inside of an enclosure, it still comes in a super slim and compact design. This is great because it helps to reduce clutter from my PC build and keeps my rig looking clean and neat.

As for the RGB design, it comes in 2 horizontal RGB strips that kind of resemble racing stripes on a race car. These create a sleek look and feel that makes the SSD look almost like a race car from the future.

One of the things that surprised me the most about this SSD is that you can actually customize the RGB and create crazy lighting patterns using ASUS Aura, Gigabyte RGB Fusion 2.0, MSI Mystic, or ASRock Polychrome Sync. Of course, this only applies if your motherboard supports this feature.

Regardless, even if your motherboard doesn’t support it, the S40G still comes with a nice default RGB flow lighting effect.

Fast Read and Write Speeds

Built with a PCIe Gen3×4, NVMe , this SSD offers Max. Sequential Read and Write Speeds of 3500 MB/s Read and 3000 MB/s Write and has Random Read and Write Speeds of up to 300K Read and 240K Write IOPS. With that kind of amazing Read and Write Performance, this SSD is perfect for things like gaming and video production.

The S40G comes in a M.2 2280 Form factor that supports the latest Intel® and AMD platforms, and something important worth mentioning is that it also comes with a 5 year warranty. This SSD comes in available storage capacities of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.

One of the coolest features of the S40G is that it supports LDPC which stands for Low Density Parity Check. Basically, what this means is that it helps you with your data security, ensuring more accurate data transfers and a longer lifespan.

Summary

Overall, I’m a big fan of the SPECTRIX S40G RGB SSD from XPG and I think they did a great job with it. Everything from its design to its stylish RGB lighting effects really make it stand out in any PC build. Most importantly, thanks to its incredibly fast read and write speeds and high performance, this SSD really is an amazing option for PC gamers and content creators.
