Moshi Avanti C USB Type-C Headphones

Up until now, you’ve probably seen your fair share of gaming headsets that are more or less very similar in terms of design and functionality. Especially when it comes to RGB lighting. Nowadays, it seems as though RGB lighting is the standard when it comes to gaming peripherals. Today, we’ll be bringing you a review of a completely different type of product. The Avanti C USB Type-C headphones from Moshi exude a classy and premium look and feel.

Starting off with what’s inside the box, we have a nice, hard-shell case for the headphones, one USB-C cable, one auxiliary cable, the user manual, and of course the headphones themselves.

Sleek and Minimalistic Design With Premium Style

Now, just looking at the headphones, based on my first impression, they definitely have a very stylish and minimalistic looking design. The band is almost entirely made of a very thin stainless steel material with the exception of a small layer of leatherette padding for the top of your head.

You can adjust the headband by rotating it or moving it up and down, so that’s pretty convenient for finding a comfortable position. I personally think the leatherette padding up top could be a little thicker but that’s just my personal preference.

The earcups are padded entirely with leatherette and have kind of an inward curvature to it which feels pretty nice for the most part. I say for the most part because these headphones, unlike your standard headset, use an on-ear design rather than an over-ear design. Which means you do actually have to play around with it a bit to find a good position that fits well for you.

Anyways, from a design standpoint I have to say that these headphones are just beautiful. They have a premium, modern look and feel and a sleek design that makes them quite suitable for pretty much any occasion, whether it be gaming, relaxing at home, or just out on the road.

Now, let’s look over some of the main features of these headphones.

High-resolution HD40 neodymium drivers
Angled earcups designed for ergonomics
Closed back earcup design for excellent noise isolation
High-resolution audio with a Class G amplifier
4-button controls with mic and DJ Boost

Premium Sound Quality for Premium Headphones

Now let’s talk about sound quality. You’d expect it to be pretty good from such a premium pair of headphones, right? Well, good thing they don’t disappoint in the slightest in this department.

The default equalizer settings feature crisp high tones that aren’t too high pitched, soft mid tones, and bass that’s strong enough for you to notice but isn’t too strong to the point where the sound becomes muffled. So whether you’re gaming, listening to music, or watching movies, these headphones will sound great.

You can also customize your equalizer settings using Moshi’s Digital Audio App which allows you to save up to 5 of your favorite custom equalizer settings that you can easily switch between using the DJ Boost button on your cable.

Summary

Overall, the thing that probably impressed me the most about the Avanti C headphones is just how aesthetic it looks. The sleek design with premium leatherette really does make the whole thing look extremely high-quality.

Also, the USB C interface makes these headphones great for devices that use USB C, like the Nintendo Switch. And to top it all off, these headphones sound just as amazing as they look.

However, these headphones are definitely on the expensive end of the spectrum. For the quality you’re getting, I wouldn’t say the price is unfair, but at a retail price of nearly $200, it certainly isn’t what some would consider affordable.

Regardless, the Avanti C headphones are a great option for anyone looking to break out of the standard gaming headset mold. For more information about the Avanti C headphones from Moshi, check out the product page at Moshi.com!
