Death Stranding

The much anticipated Death Stranding from Kojima Productions, Hideo Kojima’s video game development studio, has finally dished out its release date reveal trailer and I’ve gotta say, it looks absolutely insane on so many levels. Even after nearly 9 minutes of action, dialogue, and journeying through the game’s futuristic world, we still can’t figure out what’s going on.

Regardless of what we see in the trailer, that doesn’t change the fact that this is turning out to be one of the most exciting, anticipated games of this year. In fact, the trailer being so cryptic actually lends to the hype and excitement. Fortunately, the official PlayStation.com Death Stranding page gives us a brief overview of what the game is about.

In the near future, mysterious explosions have rocked the globe, setting off a series of supernatural events known as the Death Stranding. With otherworldly creatures plaguing the landscape, and mass extinction imminent, it’s up to Sam Porter Bridges to travel across the ravaged wasteland and save humanity from impending annihilation.

Head over to the official page to pre-order the game, which has been confirmed for release on November 8, 2019. You can also grab a copy of the Collector’s Edition which comes with a creepy-looking bridge baby pod.

Another interesting thing to mention is the sheer amount of celebrity power that’s going to be in the game. As of now, actors Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Margaret Qualley, Tommie Earl Jenkins, Troy Baker, and Lindsay Wagner have already provided motion capture, 3D scannings and vocals, and have made appearances in the trailer.
