Baldur’s Gate 3
We never thought it would actually happen. The iconic Dungeons & Dragons based RPG franchise, Baldur’s Gate, is finally coming out with a third installment after nearly 19 too-long years. Baldur’s Gate 3 was officially announced at E3 2019 with this announcement trailer:
Brought to you by the developers of Divinity: Original Sin 2, Larian Studios, expectations for Baldur’s Gate 3 are already through the roof, and for good reason. Divinity: Original Sin 2 has been touted as one of the truest and purest RPGs of the Dungeons & Dragons genre and was also the winner of the 2017 PC Gamer Game of the Year. So it’s no wonder that fans of Baldur’s Gate and D&D in general are absolutely thrilled by this announcement.
Though there are still very little details about the actual game, we can make a few speculations based on the trailer. The Illithid, a class of monsters also known as Mind Flayers, will be coming out in full force. As their names might suggest, Mind Flayers are highly intelligent beings that use their influence over the mind to control and enslave other sentient creatures.
